Stop Waffling is a speaking practice tool. It listens to an answer, scores it, and forgets it. This page explains exactly where your audio goes and what happens to it.

Short version
We do not store your voice recordings. Not on our servers, not in a database, not in a storage bucket, not for training. Audio is captured in your browser, sent once for transcription, scored, and discarded.

Where the audio actually goes
When you press record, your browser captures audio locally using your device's microphone. Nothing is sent anywhere while you are still speaking.
When you submit an answer, that single recording is transmitted over an encrypted connection to our server function, which immediately forwards it to our AI provider for speech-to-text transcription. The provider returns text. The audio is held only in memory for the length of that request — typically a few seconds — and is never written to disk, a database, or object storage by us.
The resulting transcript is then sent to a language model to produce your Waffle Rating and feedback. That transcript is returned to your browser and, again, is not saved by us.

What we keep
Your transcript, rating and feedback live in your browser tab only. Refresh the page, navigate away or close the tab and they are gone. There is no history, no account, and nothing to retrieve later.

Third parties
Transcription and scoring are performed by third-party AI models accessed through the Lovable AI Gateway. Requests are processed to return your result and are subject to those providers' own terms. We do not permit your audio or transcripts to be used to train models, and we do not sell or share your data with advertisers or data brokers.
Our hosting provider processes standard technical request data (such as IP address and timestamps) to serve the site securely, as any web host does.

Your microphone
The browser asks your permission before Stop Waffling can access the microphone, and access ends when you stop recording or leave the page. You can revoke that permission at any time in your browser settings.

Accuracy and beta status
Stop Waffling is in beta. Transcription is automated and occasionally mishears names, brands and technical terms, and scores are guidance for practice rather than a formal assessment. Please don't share confidential, sensitive or personal information in a practice answer.
